Better than most! Better than most!
The players championship is here. I think this is universally the weekend all the casuals begin to acknowledge that golf is back. The weather is starting to turn and you might be lucky enough to be able to go outside in shorts. It’s time to get the putter out and start rolling some putts into a cup while watching my picks win.
More importantly, The Masters. It’s only a month away. The smell is in the air. The Masters commercials have been slowly rolling in which definitely means golf season is about to really start.
Back to the Players Championship. Many call it the 5th major but not me. I’m extremely biased and I consider it the 6th major behind the Memorial tournament. I think it might have something to do with the fact I grew up 20 minutes from the memorial and have been multiple times. But the Players does have one of the most electric holes in all of golf. #17 has got to be one of the more intimidating golf shots on the tour. The fact that it is dried out and becomes trampoline doesn’t help. Seeing Tiger Woods hit two into the water and making a quadruple bogey on the hole really let’s you know it’s tough
My picks this weekend have a theme of riding the hot hand. Going against the grain with smaller names. All these guys have been playing good golf this season and I’m buying the value. Here are my plays:
