I am the best golf handicapper on the planet. A few weeks ago, at The Players Championship I picked the outright winner at +3600. Thank you, Cameron Smith. Then this past week, at the Dell Match Play I picked the two golfers that matched up in the championship as my outright winners. It was easily the most fun gambling on golf I have ever had. I never have had a bet were either outcome guaranteed me at least a +1700 winner. Obviously, I was rooting for Kevin Kisner at +4700 but beggars can’t be choosers. Thank you, Scottie Scheffler. So, for your sake, I really hope you have been tailing me. I don’t expect thank you’s but they are appreciated. You’re welcome.
This weekend reminds me of the Honda Classic. Great tournaments on either side of it and the field of golfers isn’t all that great. The week after any match play tournament is a tough spot because of how popular match play has become and then obviously all people want to talk about now that it is April is The Masters. And rightfully so. Quick side note while I have you here, Tiger Woods is going to win the damn thing. The internet plane trackers have been out on Twitter and are convinced his private jet landed in Augusta, Georgia. That’s enough evidence to convince me he is going to break Jack Nicklaus’ total majors won record. Tiger is back boys and girls. Buckle up. Pun intended.
Back to the tournament at hand. Rory is the big draw here and a surprisingly heavy favorite. Around +700 is reserved for world number 1s and I personally don’t think Rory has been playing that well. People will still bet him but not me. I’m a golf sharp.
Here are my plays:
Abraham Ancer to win +2100 1 Unit: This is not really my style to bet one of the top 5 favorites to win the tournament but after what I saw him do last week, I LIKE.
Richard Bland top 10 +750 1 Unit: I love this pick. The man is playing to get an invite to The Masters. Enough said.
Gary Woodland top 30 +115 2 Units: This seems like low hanging fruit. 2 units makes it worth it.
Richard Bland top 30 +210 2 Units: If I loved it at top 10, I am IN love with it at top 30.
